Combine studies/career and family!

Helping students and university members to combine family and studies or family and career is particularly important to us. For example, students with children often have to find a balance between their child, lectures and job.

The Studierendenwerk Hamburg helps provide family-friendly living space, the Georg-Panzram school-book allowance for studying single mothers/fathers, day care centre positions and an extensive counselling service.

From 16.3.20 only telephone and email consultation

From Monday, 16.3.2020, we will close this house for visitors, but will offer telephone and email consultation.

Flexible care service at the CampusNest Harburg

The CampusNest Harburg flexible care service at the TUHH campus is aimed at parents who don’t (yet) want a day-care placement for their baby or child, and who only require lower-level care. Parents who – in addition to the regular service – need additional, qualified care for their child on certain days or at certain flexible times will find loving care here.

The CampusNest is open to all interested parents from 4-5pm on the first Wednesday of every month. Visit the modern rooms at the TUHH’s new main building, and ask all your questions relating to child care.

Places are still available. We look forward to your registration.

Organic full board at day-care centres

Following a 2-month pilot phase, which involved switching day-care food to an organic full board system, the day-care dietary scheme has been converted to a fully organic menu based on very positive feedback from parents and staff, and the belief that safety and natural flavour are important for our children.

Due to the higher costs associated with buying foodstuffs, there will be a 5 € price increase as of January 2013. Parents who pay the minimum contribution or who receive the Arbeitslosengeld II unemployment benefit or housing subsidy can apply for exemption from this 5 €.

Musical instruments for all children at our day-care centres!

"We make music" – Thanks to HASPA donations, the children at our day-care centres will soon be able to go wild and immerse themselves in the world of sound. This was made possible through successful participation in the HASPA’s LotterieSparen application process.

The Studierendenwerk‘s day-care centres chose music as their theme, because it touches early childhood education in many different ways, and helps with healthy personality development to ensure a holistic growth process. Adding instruments to our music education for young children allows all children to become familiar with and use instruments, regardless of their parents’ income.

We sincerely thank the HASPA!
