Availability Counselling Centre for Social & International Affairs
The team at our Counselling Centre for Social & International Affairs - BeSI is available to clarify your social and economic questions. Due to the current developments in connection with the spread of the coronavirus, we will only provide counselling by telephone and e-mail until further notice.
We will be available by telephone at the following times under the number 040/41902-155:
Mo: 12 pm – 3 pm
Di: 9.30 am – 12 pm
Mi: 1.30 pm – 3.30 pm
Do: 9.30 am – 12 pm
Please let it ring for as long as possible, as forwarding to external telephones takes some time. Your request will be noted down and you will be called back by a counsellor as soon as possible. Therefore, please mention your availability.
In case you contact us by e-mail (besi@studierendenwerk-hamburg.de), we ask you to describe your current situation and your request as concretely as possible, so that we can advise you quickly and precisely. The following information is often relevant for us, especially when it comes to financial issues:
- At which university are you studying or doing your PhD?
- What semester are you in?
- How have you been financing your studies so far (BAföG/job income/support by familiy/other social benefits/scholarship/credit/loans) and how much money do you currently have at your disposal?
- Which source of financing is missing now and why?
- What is your monthly need (rent/health insurance/special additional needs)?
- Do you live alone or in a shared apartment/student dorm?
- Do you have special living circumstances (childcare, single parenting, care of relatives, health impairment, refugee/migration background)?
