University sport and the Studierendenwerk: two inter-university facilities which play a major role in campus life outside the lecture rooms.
While we attend to Eating - Living – Course financing – Social matters – International matters and day care centres for students in Hamburg, the University Sport facility keeps brainiacs active!
The SportsCard grants access to more than 200 courses in over 50 different sports! Whether it be a weekly sports lesson, a weekend workshop, fitness at modern gyms, sailing trips or skiing, there’s something for all tastes.
Take advantage of the wide range of options, and do something positive for your health and communication/integration off campus.
At the start of each semester and semester break, the University Sport facility publishes a detailed programme containing all the options and activities. The programmes are available at the Studierendenwerk Hamburg and at most universities.
Hamburg university athletes place particular emphasis on watersport: Whether it be sailing in dinghies or 470s, rowing dragon boats on the Outer Alster Lake, canoeing or kayaking on Hamburg’s canals, catamaraning, surfing, kitesurfing on Fehrmarn Island or the Baltic Sea… There’s so much to choose from!
Competitive sport and tournaments have also grown in popularity and been developed a lot in recent years. There are also numerous free courses requiring once-off registration for woman/man.
If you’ve found something you like in the University Sport programme, simply register at http://www.hochschulsport-hamburg.de/or using the registration cards contained in the book.
