The Hamburg Studierendenwerk is a public-law institution, providing social and financial services for students. It is financed by the proceeds from food and drink purchases, rent, parent fees for childcare, student semester fees, and grants from the Hanseatic City of Hamburg for education assistance, childcare fees etc.
The City of Hamburg helps fund the Studierendenwerk Hamburg in areas such as accommodation and dining facilities.
